There are three main types of stepper motors in construction: permanent magnet (PM), reactive (VR), and hybrid (HB).
The first is the reaction type, which is generally used for automation products that require little dynamic performance. Reaction type: there are windings on the stator and the rotor is soft magnetic material composition. The utility model has the advantages of simple structure, low cost and small step angle, up to 1.2°, but the dynamic performance is poor, the efficiency is low, the heat is large, and the reliability is difficult to ensure.
The second type is permanent magnet. This is the case for products that require a large torque and do not require high precision. Permanent magnet type: The rotor of the permanent magnet stepping motor is made of permanent magnet material, and the number of poles of the rotor is determined.The number of poles is the same. It is characterized by good dynamic performance and large output torque, but this motor has poor precision and a large angle (generally 7.5° or 15°).
The third is the hybrid stepping motor with the largest market share at the current stage, which improves the accuracy of colleagues who stabilize the output torque. Combining the advantages of reactive and permanent magnets, there are multiphase windings on the stator and permanent magnet material is used on the rotor, and there are a plurality of small teeth on the rotor and the stator to improve the step precision. It is characterized by large output torque, good dynamic performance, small step angle, but complex structure and cost higher.
According to the winding on the stator, there are two phases, three phases and five equal series. The most popular is the two-phase hybrid stepping motor, which accounts for more than 97% of the market share. The reason is that it is cost-effective and matched micro-step stepper drive, it works well and can meet the accuracy requirements of most automation products.
